Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy
In equine-assisted psychotherapy sessions, the patient and the horse establish non-verbal communication in which, with the therapist's guidance, the search for solutions, creative thinking, conflict resolution, assumption of responsibilities, social relationships, self-confidence and confidence in others, and positive attitudes are enhanced.
Horses are highly sensitive to human emotions and react honestly when recognizing these emotions.
These characteristics make them important facilitators of change.
In my sessions I use the EAGALA method (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association), the leading international association of professionals who use horses to treat human mental health and developmental needs.
I start from the premise that each individual has the best solutions for themselves when given the opportunity to discover them.
In this video from EAGALA we can understand what Equine Assisted Psychotherapy consists of.
